Here it seems to be a very good year for Humming-bird hawk moths. I have seen up to two most days over the last fortnight on our red valerian and also one seemingly nectaring on red campion in the car park of our natural burial site nearby. Otherwise trapping has been disappointing - small numbers and not so diverse in range. The most notable catch was Small Seraphim.

No sign of hummers down here, in spite of me having a bed of red valerian in full flower ready for them. Well done, Sally.
