My first attempt at running my 6w Actinic trap, despite a drop in over night temperature to 8'c I was pleased to find 42 moths of 7 species with Common Quaker 30, Hebrew Character 3, Early Grey 3,Clouded Drab 2, Dotted Border 1, Small Quaker 1, Twin Spot Quaker 2.
Looking forward to running more traps over the coming months, and if anyone would like to run their own traps at any of the following sites I manage please get in touch: Mynydd Mawr Woodland Park, Allt Nant-y-Ci, Gelliwerdd, Ynysdawela Nature Park, Morfa Berwig LNR, Pembrey Burrows LNR
Excellent to see you back trapping Paul. Look out for bog and conifer species at LLO - take decent photos if stuck; also don`t forget the micros.
ReplyDeleteYou have got a wide range of habitat types at the sites listed.
Look out for orange underwings at LLO and MMWP. Be patient re latter species - warm sunny days about 11.30- 3.00pm above birches.
Cheers Ian
