Great Prominent

On 28th March I had a very good trapping session of over 150 moths for 15 species. Nearly half were Small Quakers, but I also had 9 Oak  Beauties, 2 Frosted Green, plus Lunar Marbled Brown, Pale Pinion, assorted Quakers, HCs, Clouded Drabs etc.

I also had this rather early,  perfect Great Prominent , which I hope I’ve managed to show a picture of! Usually this blog doesn’t like me uploading photos from IPad , so I’m trying again.

  2. Yes, nice one Jane, GP is a stunning moth. The early part of last week did provide good trapping conditions, sadly they've deteriorated since but should pick up again soon. It's nice to see the blog back in action, I'm just hoping that this comment gets posted successfully....

  3. Pleased my photo can be seen, much easier to use IPad for photos - for me anyway. Hopefully trap will be out again tonight as night temperatures seem to be on the rise.
