Yesterday I found, for the first time, Pachyrhabda steropodes here (at our natural burial site/nature reserve, Saron, Llandysul). I have been searching for this species which seems to be moving quickly to new locations. There were well over 100 flying around a few soft shield ferns. They were confined to just one area – with a lot of dog mercury – not sure if that is significant. Today there were fewer but it was earlier in the day. One landed on my hand so a friend with a mobile phone too this shot. Apologies for the poor quality.
A really good record for north Carmarthenshire, Sally. Your photo certainly shows how small the moth is! Now we need someone to find it in Ceredigion!
