I never imagined that I might be the first to post on the blog in 2023! Well, not quite, but by and large there's not been much sign of activity. It may well be that others have trapped this year and haven't felt that the results were worth posting, but I thought - why not get the ball rolling? So here we are. I put an actinic trap out last night for the first time in 2023, it was a damp night but mild and with little wind, i.e. reasonably favourable conditions. Eight moths turned up, two Pale Brindled Beauties and six Dotted Border, not too exciting but it's a start. So here are a couple of them:
