Another interesting moth
I’m thinking that this is Ostrinia nubilasis European Corn-borer. But it may be wishful thinking.
Looks promising Jane...the only thing that it needs checking against is Loxostige sticticalis, which is around at present, but to my eyes it looks more like Ostrinia.

ReplyDeletePS: there are no records shown on Sam`s 2016 vc44 list so it has potential to be a NCR...another excellent migrant. Well done Jane.
ReplyDeleteJust had a good look at Stiticalis and to my admittedly untutored eyes, it still looks like a EC-b.
