I`ll persevere with `that moth` with blue hind-wings....Whatever, I had a few migrants last night so all was not lost and, in this account, there`ll be plenty of mention of `hind-wings`. The migrants included two scarce bordered straws, a vestal and several each of rush veneer and silver y.
Above: the two scarce bordered straws, the second one being very dark and it confused me at first until it showed its hind-wings (see photo at the end of this blog).
Above: last night`s vestal, fresh from the garden trap, and, below, another one seen on a brownfield site at Burry Port yesterday.Above: common wainscot (rather infrequent in Carms - the white hind-wings were checked).
Above: large wainscot, a typical early autumn moth.
Above: the darker of the two scarce bordered straws referred to above, showing its hind-wings.
