An easy leaf-mine for beginners ...

If you want to make an easy record at or near your trapping locality, simply look for bindweed (or `Ladi Wen` as it`s known in parts of SE Carms). It is easily reconisable, with its rampant climbing stems and white bell-shaped flowers; it can be a nuisance in gardens!

It is the host plant of the micro-moth Bedellia somnulenta and looking for the mines (which are visible now) is a very easy way to record this moth. It seems to be having a good year in 2022...so have a look.
