More on Luffia ....

Since last posting, I have been to Llangennech, east of Llanelli, where there is a low wall of copper slag on the seaward side of the railway (the Mid Wales Line) but fencing and the presence of workmen deterred any inspection - I will return! I also had a quick look at the very few remaining back-lane copper slag walls in the Seaside area of Llanelli itself,  but most were `over-pointed`, so no luck there either! Incidentally if anyone wants some background reading regarding the family Psychidae `bag-worms`, of which Luffia is a member, have a look at the interesting account on pages 66-67 in Sterling & Parsons Field Guide to the Micro Moths of GB & Ireland (2012).

Above:I took home some lumps of slag from Machynys, marking the position of Luffia with a red and white spot about an inch or two above its resting place. `Click on pic` to enlarge.  Except for one, all have remained in the same position for about two weeks.
