Last night brought 64 moths of 28 species to my small Skinner actinic trap, a fairly modest catch but the evening sky was largely clear and it was quite cool. Amongst the trap contents was this Gem:
Others of note included the year's second sightings of Acleris emargana and Phoenix, and the first of Centre-barred Sallow.
Acleris emargana
Well done Chris re your capture of a gem. Nothing of note to report in my trap last night, though I heard of a hummer being sighted in Llanelli over the last couple of days.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ian, yes I've been on the look-out for hummers on the buddleia this week in particular because there have been large numbers of butterflies, I can't remember seeing so many before, and they've included Painted Ladys, but so far no HBHM.
