Most pugs go down as Pug sp. but as soon as I saw this individual I knew I could identify it.
Bordered Pug - a life!
A first for the year was this Dark-barred Twin-spot Carpet - I always spend some time carefully checking their identity.
And only my second Brown-line Bright-eye.
I spent a long time going over this intricately coloured moth, puzzling over its identity.
Then suddenly it fell into place - a Coronet. This is surely my most beautiful sighting of this species, mauve and gold threaded with black.

Great set of very nice photos, Adam. Your Coronet is form coronula - see Chris Manley's excellent British Moths book.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much. It was the book that gave it to me - I noticed similar patterns in one of the shots.
