Better Trappings at Maenol

Numbers of moths and species were up last night, which was all the more pleasing because conditions don't look too good for the rest of the week.  Of the 19 species recorded, 4 were FFYs: Pine Carpet (2), Merveille du Jour (always nice to see this beauty), Brown-spot Pinion (3), and Sallow.

                                                                   Brown-spot Pinion
                                                                   Merveille du Jour
                                                                         Pine Carpet

Black Rustic and Pink-barred Sallow were the most numerous species, nine of each.  Also worthy of mention: Dark-barred Twin-spot Carpet, Autumnal Rustic, Brindled Green, Frosted Orange, and Burnished Brass.
