I trapped on Monday night and caught a few moths, even though the trap had been disturbed in the night by some animal, I am guessing an inquisitive domestic cat. Apart from ten Heart and Dart, I was pleased to find Blastobasis lacticolella.
I also found this handsome beast which I initially earmarked as Triple-spotted Clay but now I'm wondering if it's just a common old Double Square Spot.
Any ideas? It was an attractive pinkish sandy colour and the right size.
I`d agree with your suggestion that it`s a double square-spot Adam. Good to see that several of us are back trapping after the cold and rainy spell.
ReplyDeleteRegarding your comment on Steve`s post re Hendy cricket ground - I nearly went there today after daytime mothing at Llangennech, but ran out of time.
