Quiet time at Maenol

In the absence of much moth activity anywhere I might as well report one or two fairly inconsequential events here:

- the first Garden Carpet was spotted on a window last Saturday

- on Sunday it was sunny, and the weather brought out the first Micropterix calthella, on my Marsh Marigolds

- Meanwhile I had put two actinic traps out on Saturday night and, not surprisingly in view of the cold, clear conditions, the trappings were meagre: 6 Hebrew Characters and singles of Engrailed, Brindled Beauty and Chestnut.

I may well shine the MV tonight because the expected conditions are much more favourable.

  1. No MV light shone here last night - it was wet and not very warm. Maybe tonight....
