Cwmllwyd 3 July 2017

48 species including 10 FFYs were trapped last night (Monday) in the alder grove at Cwmllwyd. Nothing too sensational was found, but a few species were worthy of a photo:

 Scallop Shell

 A Clay and its underside

A splendidly marked Coronet

Could this be a Brown Plume?

  1. Looks like a brown plume to me Steve, with a tiny black spot at the base of the cleft in the wing. A nice record.

  2. Thanks Ian - it's a rather pale specimen which raised some doubts, but there didn't seem to be too many alternatives.
