Garden Mothing

Saturday's  Carmarthenshire Bird Club walk yielded  three FFY butterflies for Pembrey  Burrows LNR, in the form of Dark Green Fritillary, Marbled White and Large Skipper, with just one Green Hairstreak seen which probably ends a fairly good season for the species on the reserve. A  Grass Eggar caterpillar was a good find.

Mothing in the garden overnight was very poor, with just  singles of Snout, Marbled Minor and a Dusky Brocade, maybe closing down at 03:45 was too late? I think Pembrey calls tonight.

  1. Well done Paul - at least you tried. If it`s any consolation my home trap held lesser number and variety compared to the previous night. Do try dusking at Pembrey and look out for rosy wave on the saltings.
