Absolutely not in the same league as Jane`s sprawler (and perhaps not as attractive as her red sword-grass either) was this dark sword grass, caught at Pwll, Llanelli last night. I had decided in the late afternoon not to trap, as it was quite windy but, upon looking out after dusk, I noticed that the wind had abated slightly so out went one trap.
This morning revealed not too many moths - indeed lesser numbers and certainly less variety than my previous trap but the migrant dark sword-grass was some compensation.
The next few nights look suitable with weaker winds including some from a SE direction - so worth trapping perhaps.
Above: last night`s (27/10) dark sword-grass.
