I put out the garden traps at Pwll last night (Tues, 20/9), but the results were poor (<10 species in very low numbers - even not a single LYU!). There were c 12 silver y`s (all well-marked and fresh) and a single rush veneer in the migrant camp, and two sallows were a FFY for me (the first of any sallow species this year at my moth traps).
It`s obviously still worth trapping to get a full suite of potential autumn moth species records, so there`s no need to be disheartened by poor catches.
Above: a slightly blurry shot (its wings were starting to move) of one of last night`s sallows.
