Mothy fun inland too

The weather was perfect (again) last night, with warm conditions and a light southerly airflow - mothing certainly isn't over for the year!  I didn't get any notable migrants, unlike Ian, but did get lots of moths: 57 species including various interesting 2nd broods.  Highlights were:

Autumn species - 8 Flounced Chestnut (photo), 3 Merveille du Jour, 7 Pink-barred Sallow, 2 Brindled Green, 2 Green-brindled Crescent, 2 Black Rustic (photo), 1 Frosted Orange, 1 Autumnal Rustic (photo), 1 Red-line Quaker & 1 Brick (photo).

2nd Brood species - 2 Satin Beauty (photo), 1 Riband Wave, 1 Foxglove Pug (photo), 1 Fan-foot (photo), 1 Flame

Other Macros - 8 Pinion-streaked Snout (photo), 1 Dusky Thorn, 1 Purple-bar, 21 Brimatone, 23 Spruce Carpet (photo), 25 Green Carpet

Micros - 3 Pandemis cinnamomeana (photo, nb the white cap), 1 Phyllonorycter messaniella, 1 Eupoecila angustana, 2 Archips podana, 1 Tinea semifulvella, 1 Ypsolopha parenthesella, 1 Pyrausta purpuralis etc.

It's worth keeping an eye on the weather websites to look for cloudy, non-windy nights, either with drizzle or without.  The season is very much still going!!
