On my usual morning walk yesterday (sunny and bright) I saw a Green Hairstreak. I haven't seen one of these here since 4/6/2010. Both were in the same area of the farm - within a few hundred yards - rhos pasture/haymeadow. Yesterday's was flying above bramble and settled several times so I had excellent views. Last time one was flying around the gorse.
This morning in our scapes' hay meadow I was delighted to see a Small Yellow Underwing - it was settled on a plant stalk, so again a very good view - and a first for me here.
