Maenol Latest

Results from an actinic trap on Saturday evening (28/29 June), a very reasonable catch of 100 + moths of 40 species or thereabouts, being almost all usual seasonal ones - not fully catalogued, the practice here from now on will be not to make a full record, it's simply not possible for me to do so any more.  However, if anything unusual or otherwise worthy of attention turns up I will report it! One such this time was what I believe to be a White-line Dart:

Perhaps someone more familiar with the Dart family will kindly confirm or otherwise, I don't believe that I've seen this species at Maenol before now.

Thank you for your comment, Sam.  For some reason updating the blog is the only way I can respond. I'm afraid you're right, worn Flame Shoulder, shows how out of touch I am!

  1. I think that’s a battered Flame Shoulder. Sorry Chris. I’m glad to see you’re trapping again though.
