Night of 23rd May, Pontyberem
The forecast was actually correct with warm, damp weather and a morning temperature of 14.5 degrees, after the long high pressure northerly airstream.
The MV at the back door produced 80 species including 2 new for the garden, 3,Common Lutestring and a Lime Hawk-moth, and a Barred Umber which I last saw here in 2019.

PS I couldn't seem to add captions to the images. I'm sure it has always been fine previously but I must be doing something wrong. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Chris. I`ve emailed you (and others) re some blog issues. My moth trap results are poor - very much impoverished versions (low numbers, low variety) of what (eg) you, Adam and others are catching, though I did have a second cream-bordered green pea recently. I put it down to the suburban setting and multitude of street lights. Not as good as my previous site at Pwll - with adjacent coastal and wetland habitats - bah!
