Bancyffordd 13/8/22 Interesting micro.

Nothing much new on the macro front but I think this moth is Nephopterix angustella. I don't know of much spindle in the area. If my identification is correct, then maybe it has come in on some garden plants somewhere as it doesn't appear to be a common moth in Wales according to the NBN atlas and iRECORD data.

  1. A nice capture Andy! I recall that Mel Jones has had it at Llansteffan and it may be recorded elsewhere in very recent years (Sam`s micro-moth summaries in the newsletters should have details). It`s a moth that I`ve not had but hoped to find in Pembrey Forest or - especially - at the nearby Penybedd Wood where spindle abounds.
