Maenol 14/07/2022

A small actinic trap was sited at the far north side of my garden last night, not a position I have used much but it was where I trapped the last V-Moth, in the same trap, on the night of 10 July last year.  The trap contained only 13 moths this morning, but they included one I was hoping for:

V-Moth

Also worthy of mention was a Crambid species that has occurred here regularly in previous years:

Eudonia delunella

  1. Well done re the v-moth Chris...it`s a moth that I`ve never seen. Good to see that Maenol still supports this much-declined species.

    1. Thanks Ian, it's still a bit of a puzzle that I can't find the larvae in my fruit cage which is only a few metres from where the moth was caught.
