A Happy New Year to all my fellow moth-ers! A belated greeting, but it marks my first trapping session in 2022. Two actinic traps went out last night, a small (6w) Heath type at the back and a larger (20w) Skinner type at the front. This is the combination that I employ more often than not. And more often than not with more success than last night, when a total of five moths were recorded: 3 Early Moths, 1 Pale Brindled Beauty, and 1 Agonopterix heracliana. Not for the first time the 6w trap out-performed the larger one, which attracted no moths at all.
