I've been trapping regularly and though the catches are starting to normalise for the year, there's been nothing to get excited about. This morning I dragged my camera to Pembrey Forest where butterfly numbers were low, however I photographed my first Painted Lady for the year.
My attention was caught by a pale day flying moth which I photographed. I puzzled over it for a while until I realised I had a new moth. Happily Ian confirmed my diagnosis - Orange Footman.
Orange footman at guelder rose flowers by the look of it.
