Brown Hairstreak.
Hawkeye Friese has just spotted these Brown Hairstreak eggs on Blackthorn twigs near Cilsan Bridge. They are so tiny I would never have seen them in a month of Sundays!
As you can see, the first late 2020 Brown Hairstreak eggs have just been reported in Tywi valley, north of Broad Oak. During coming lockdown, if you are walking past unflailed blackthorn in hedges or field corners, do have a look. They're about pinhead size and white - like little sea urchins under a hand lens. We are particularly interested in finds upstream of Broad Oak in Tywi, but anywhere in Teifi, Tywi or tributaries where altitude is under 100m contour, would be really useful.
