Last night (Friday 16th) the Robinson trap with actinic light attracted 43 moths of 20 species, not a bad return for this time of year. Most numerous were Epirrita sp. 8, Black Rustic 5 and Spruce Carpet 5. FFYs Red-green Carpet and Lunar Underwing. It was good to have another Brown-spot Pinion, and especially good to see Tawny Pinion, a very occasional visitor here (six previous records).
