Maenol Last Night

It looked like being the last favourable trapping night until the weekend so I put two traps out, MV at the back and actinic at the front.  Plenty of moths turned up, these four species were particularly welcome:

            Sharp-angled Carpet                              Large Emerald

          Beautiful Snout                Beautiful China-mark

I almost missed the BS, it was hiding behind the patio door handle.

Two micros are worthy of mention:

                 Celypha striana                           Ypsolopha nemorella

It's nice to see striana because it's one of the easier Tortrixes to identify!  Likewise Nemorella which, like its fellow Ypsolophid, dentella, is a honeysuckle-feeder, and the trap was sited fairly close to a very large honeysuckle bush.

      Very large honeysuckle bush
