There were a mere 51 moths in last night's trap, but of 32 species, so quite diverse nonetheless. The commonest species were Garden Grass Veneer, Chrysoteuchia culmella. and Lesser/Common Rustic with 6 species each. I was delighted to catch a new, if slightly battered, Thorn, and a very handsome moth too - NOT Lunar Thorn as I first thought, but Purple Thorn.
I also had a nice FFY, the paradoxically quite common, Scarce Footman.
I found my second specimen of Small Dusty Wave, a rare find in Carms.
It was on the shed near the trap, looking very puglike when I potted it.
