Interesting sub-species and Eyed Hawkmoth
I never take any Hawkmoth for granted and the trap granted me both Small Elephant and Eyed Hawkmoth this morning. It's the fourth time that Small Elephant has made an appearance after its debut earlier this year, but I think this is only my fourth Eyed Hawkmoth ever!
I have had a few Mottled Beauties lately and they usually have me scratching my head. Not the specimen below though, a nailed on Mottled Beauty of the conversaria sub-species.
Quite handsome!
