For some reason the photographing of very small things is called macro photography. To get decent pictures, you need specialist equipment, that focuses at close distances and projects a large image onto the sensor. I was stricken when my old Macro lens bit the dust recently and with no prospect of repair during the current emergency, I decided to buy a stopgap replacement for less than half the price of my other lens. Lo and behold it seems to produce images that are just as good and maybe even better - this tiny micro is Aspilapteryx tringipennella, which I have caught and photographed before. I think the new lens aced it.
Coincidentally, I have just had a similar problem (total failure!) with my Tamron 90mm macro lens: are you able to tell us what your new one is? It certainly looks to do a good job.
ReplyDeleteSigma 105 OS. My broken lens was a Sigma too! The Tamron has a good reputation and I know others who swear by it.
