Small Grey Moths

Since the weather has led to a temporary blog silence, and at the risk of boring everyone to tears, I'm adding a post script to the matter of the 'minute moths'.  Because of their size and colour they are difficult if not impossible to see on grey egg cartons, and I rely on many of them landing on the wooden floor of my Skinner trap where they are relatively easy to pick out.  Also, because I empty the traps in a utility room, most of the moths (and other insects) that escape from the trap make a bee-line for the windows where they are easy to recapture. These small grey moths are no exception, but sadly they don't last long once they've made that journey.  These were collected from the window sill after my last trapping session:
