A poor chance of an ID

This very worn moth was in the actinic trap this wet morning. My nearest guess is Epinotia nisella as size and shape about right but the black should be more chestnut. Probably not conclusive but all thoughts welcome!

  2. Looks good for nisella, the blotch can be black or chestnut. This page shows just how variable this species is:
