Balmy southerly breezes whilst `leaf-mining` yesterday afternoon (23/9) led to hopes that the night`s trapping would bring some migrants but, apart from good numbers of silver ys (12, good for 2017), there were none. Sallows and dusky thorns were in increasing numbers and a black rustic was a FFY for me.
The best moth was an l-album wainscot (see below), a species that I catch from time to time in my garden trap. It is certainly resident on the Carmarthenshire coast.
Snap....I had one of them Saturday night too, and a Black RusticI also had a Lilac Beauty.
