The Old Lady that got away!

Last Tues/Weds 1st/2nd Aug - Corner light in the garden.  I should have blogged this sighting at the time.

I went to check to see if anything had arrived on the wall by the corner light, and noticed a large dark moth, and knew it was the Old Lady.  I recognised it after seeing regular posts on the fb group page, but it was much larger than I was expecting.

I mentioned this sighting  to Chris Handoll, on one of his posts, and he suggested that I post the info here.

Unfortunately, on the evening I potted the Old Lady, I decided to let the moth feed on the buddleia, and was hoping to take a 'night shot', as seen on the fb page. I gently placed it on the buddleia and off it flew.......with no photo I was gutted! Hoping it would return later in the evening, or even the next night, but nothing since, so I live in hope of another sighting! I wished her a fond farewell to the Old Lady that got away!!
