No moth migrants turned up to my `moth party` last night ( Tues.13/12), in spite of the strong southerlies and the (albeit limited) catches of goodies such as white-specks in Cornwall during the previous night. Instead, just a small band of residents were in the trap - December moth x2, red-green carpet x1 (very worn), mottled umber x2, scarce umber x1 and Epiphyas postvittana x1.
Postscript: I left the trap in situ for last night (Weds. 14/12) too, but again no migrants. Last night`s tally was: Dec. moth x4, winter moth x1, red-green carpet x1, dark chestnut x1, feathered thorn x2 and Agonopterix arenella.
