Cwmllwyd 18 April 2016

A little colder and windier than forecast last night resulted in 60 moths of 11 species at the MV trap in the alder grove. They included just two FFYs:

 Red Sword-grass

Streamer

It's looking good for Wednesday, so I will try again before we have more frost at the weekend. Not too bad for birds, so far; Chiff-chaff, Cuckoo, Swallow, House Martin, Pied Flycatcher are all here, with lots of Wheatears on the mountain.

  1. I decided not to trap last night as it looked too clear/cold here at Pwll but - as you say - Weds (and Thurs) currently look good, so I`ll trap then if the forecast remains correct. Keep up the good work Steve.
