I took advantage of a free trip (if you are 60 and have got a bus pass!) on the Mid-Wales railway to Llandovery today and spent a pleasant couple of hours looking around.
The only moth seen was the fern-feeding Psychoides filicivora, but a calling kite low overhead, lots of redwing flocks en route and a couple of interesting garden escape plants added to the interest.
Above: view looking north from the castle mound into the upper Tywi hill country, with a memorial to Llewelyn ap Gruffydd Fychan in the foreground.
