Some more Pendine photos - from Chris Manley

Chris Manley has kindly sent me some photos from last night`s trapping session near Pendine, with his permission to include them on the Carmarthenshire Moth Blog. They are shown below and amply demonstrate his skills as a moth photographer.
Above: hoary footman, with a backdrop of a rock from Ragwen Point. The yellow lichen is (or used to be) called Rhizocarpon geographicum (one of the few that I know!). It grows on acidic rocks such as the quartzite shown above.
                                                Above: the pyralid Scoparia subfusca.
Above: another pyralid - Eudonia truncicolella.
                                                   All above photos: Chris Manley.

  1. As you say Ian, excellent photography. I'd very much like to know what camera Chris uses. I've just obtained an Olympus TG4 compact digital which has a 'micro' mode focusing as close as 1cm and an LED ring light, so I'm hoping to improve my technique.
