Yesterday and Today
Cwmllwyd 17 August 2015: bathroom window at night -
Pebble Hook-tip
Cwmllwyd 18 August 2015: flew from hedgerow ash while I was walking the dogs this morning.
Really nice how you`ve captured the lovely purple iridescence Steve! Well done. I`ll probably trap at home tonight too, though tomorrow night looks suitable too.
I'm really envious, Steve. I've never seen one of those stunning butterflies and you've managed to get lovely photos of a butterfly which spends most of the time high in the tree canopy. I'll obviously have to spend more time looking up!
Thank you both for your kind comments. Purple Hairstreak is said to be the most common of British hairstreaks, but I can't find any previous record I've made for it anywhere - a great sighting for me, then!
