The brown argus is back

The second generation of brown argus is back on Ffos Las.  The photos are of 2 different individuals taken half an hour apart on 17th August.  The differing wear marks on the wings show that they are not the same individual.

There were lots of butterflies on the wing that afternoon's circular walk in glorious sunshine: 6 speckled wood, 101 gatekeeper, 46 common blue, 31 meadow brown, 1 small copper, 2 brown argus, 1 green-veined white, 6 peacock, 2 small tortoiseshell and 4 wall brown.  There were also lots of micromoths flushed from the vegetation whilst walking past, none of which I managed to photograph as they keep hiding on the underside of leaves - most unobliging!
