After a break I took from work to write the preceding blog, I was by the kitchen door and putting on my wellington boots to re-start and I spotted a hummingbird hawk-moth in the garden. My camera was actually close by, but after feeding at various flowers for about 30 seconds, off it flew, over the tall perimeter wall to next door! Seen at 2.00 pm, 1/8/15.
I did n`t see one last year, and I`ve not had any previous sightings this year so, it`s about time one turned up for me! I now believe that the species exists!
