Salem

I didn't trap this weekend but found this micro waiting on the wall nonetheless. Is it the catchily-named Semioscopis steinkellneriana? If so, I think it's a new one for me. Apologies for the lack of close-up - I only had my phone on me.

    It looks like that in my new Chris Manley book Vaughn. I don`t think that I`ve personally had this species, though I note that someone in Somerset (see their blog) recorded it late last week too.

    I've had S steinkellneriana here on four occasions, but not since 2012 (4 May, last record). Nice one Vaughn, I'd love to see it again - wonderfully vivid features.
