Before the nights get colder....
Although it was quite cold last night, it is supposed to get a bit colder over the weekend with easterly winds, so I thought I`d get some mothing done. As it was convenient, I set out two `away from home` mobile actinics - one at my late parents` garden and the other at the nearby Furnace Quarry and the result was fairly reasonable. I had seven species at the first-named site and eight at the overgrown, old Pennant Sandstone quarry, with a yellow horned being the best moth there. Except for March moths, all were singles or `twos`. The yellow horned and a twin-spotted quaker were FFYs for me.

Admirable persistence, Ian - and it's proved to be worthwhile. Well done you!
