15 species to the porch light here last night. Acleris variegana was the prettiest of the lot.
Please don't get dispirited by the reduced variety of moths in autumn: that's just the nature of moth trapping. Several of the autumn specials are really attractive, eg Merveille du Jour and various Chestnutty/Bricky jobs; there's a really good chance of immigrants brighting up the trap; there are fewer moths to sort through so it doesn't have to take you all morning; and dawn is late, so tiredness can be avoided. It's all good!!!
