Chilly, clear skies, full moon.... but still some moths

Trapped at Beili Rhyn, between Llangadog and Myddfai, last night (Tuesday) with a MV Robinson trap. I was a bit surprised to get over 100 moths but the early part of the night, before the moon came up and the temperature dropped, was not too bad. Sixty hebrew characters made up half the catch and amongst the 14 other species were 8 powdered quaker, 11 red chestnut, 3 early grey, 2 lunar marbled brown and a (rather early) lobster moth. Many thanks to Ben and Jen McAllister for  supplying those essential ingredients - the electricity and the coffee....

  1. Good that you are tackling new territory and a new 10km square Mat - well done!
