a new site

I trapped at Ffos y broga, Cwrt Henri, last night (Tuesday).  Andrew and Helen Martin were already out in their field checking the Robinson trap when I rolled up at 7.30 this morning. Just over 50 moths including a couple of not-too-common Carmarthenshire ones, grey birch and red sword-grass. It was nice also to get several herald, pebble prominent and muslin moth. Ones that have not yet put in an appearance at home in Carmel this year included flame shoulder, ruby tiger and brimstone moth.

  1. Again, well done Mat. New sites=new moths and better coverage of the county. It also avoids the monotony of the same moths all the time with ongoing home trapping, however extremely valuable and informative the latter is. New sites can be friends` homes, or out-in-the-field actinic and battery trapping.
