Set the trap last night in Salem and the evening started mild but began clearing and getting cold with a big moon so wasn't expecting too much this morning. Cloud cover must have returned though as it was fairly mild again at 6:45 this morning when I emptied the trap.
The highlights were definitely a dark sword-grass which I assume would have come in on the southerly winds and a yellow-horned.
Otherwise the catch included:
Common quaker 7
Early moth 5
Engrailed 3
Red chestnut 3
Spring usher 2
Hebrew character 2
Small quaker 2
Chestnut 1
Dotted border 1
Shoulder stripe 1
Acleris hastiana 1
and a dozy queen common wasp...
A nice record Vaughn. Barry Stewart had a dark sword-grass a couple of weeks ago at Gorseinon and, given the hummingbird hawk-moths and red admirals presumably a migrant too.
