The night before last I had a big fat Great Tit sitting in the trap plus a load of dismembered wings. Last night however was better, in fact quite a good night with over 30 Macro species including my first Lime Hawkmoth.

I was a bit disturbed to hear of your Great Tit invasion, Colin. I believe that you may have obtained your trap from Paul Batty in which case I may have one of the same type! As a matter of interest, if it is a Heath-type trap does it have vanes at the opening of the funnel? Mine has, and whilst it's probably not absolutely bird-proof it would be quite difficult for one to get in. Great to see a Lime Hawk Moth, wish we had them around here!
